The writing process has different steps: prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. A writer must go through all of the steps to make sure that he has written a polished, finished essay. Writing is not always a step-by-step process. A writer may switch back and forth between the two processes when they need to. For example, when editing, you may need to go back to the pre-writing stage and add to what you already wrote.

Students might find writing hard, so it’s important to show them how to do it. Many students have trouble writing an essay. Because of this, it is very important for the home teacher to show the students how to write correctly.

The importance of Essay Writing Process is explained when working with a student who doesn’t like to write, it’s important to act out each step of the writing process. They should get ready to write an essay like the one the student is writing. For example, if the student is writing about “My Favorite Vacation,” the home teacher may decide to write his own essay about a similar topic at the same time. This essay could be about My Favorite Weekend or My Favorite Holiday.

The teacher- should be ready to walk his student through each step of the writing process. The teacher should use his or her own subject to show the student how to do a prewriting activity. Then, he should help the student do this task by walking them through each step while keeping the discussion on the student’s chosen topic. A new student doesn’t naturally know how to take notes before writing and turn them into written work of essay. The teacher should show how to do this with his own subject. He should take some time to talk to the student about how he chose to focus his essay, why he chose to include certain ideas over others, and how he plans to organize the writing. After the teacher has helped the students talk about his ideas, the student and teacher should work together to help the students with the writing assignment.

As you’ll see, there are several benefits to sticking with the writing process.

  • It gives your writing or material an attractive form.
  • It facilitates the reader’s search for the specified objects.
  • It’s possible that everything will turn out well.
  • Since it piques the reader’s attention immediately, the piece is read in its entirety.
  • It tells the reader what kind of piece they’re reading (e.g., article, summary, abstract, thesis, essay, etc.

To begin, it’s important to recognize that you likely already use a writing process, even if it’s informal, unconscious, and varies somewhat from one writing project to the next. Most likely, it resembles this:

  • The thought of writing a paper makes you sick to your stomach every time a professor assigns one.
  • After reading the instructions attentively, you tentatively choose a topic by considering the merits of the ones that will be the fastest to write about, the most interesting to research, and the highest possible grade.
  • You sit down and brainstorm some ideas by writing them down.
  • You make a rough outline of a plan, either mentally or on paper.
  • You begin the arduous process of composing the real paper, spending many hours agonizing over every word and worrying not just about what ideas to include but also how to present them in a manner that is technically true and elegant.
  • Since this is often done the night (or morning) before the project is due, you stop for a while and then check the work, fixing any spelling or grammatical issues you notice and maybe altering or adding a sentence or two.
  • Uncertain of how well it turned out and yet feeling nervous about whether or not you did a good job. 

As a result, there are many important reasons to adopt a methodical approach to writing:

Reduce stress and anxiety 

Knowing that there are clear steps you can take to split the daunting work of “WRITING” into manageable portions can relieve a lot of stress and anxiety while you write. In other words, if you have spent a lot of time thinking about ideas (Step 1) and organizing them (Step 2) into a cohesive strategy, then making your first draft will be much easier.

Raise the bar

You may increase the overall quality of your work by focusing on each stage individually and making those improvements. The sum will be greater than the parts. (And decreasing concern can only help you improve quality, right?) Maybe you think that a little anxiety is good for you because it demonstrates that you care and because you thrive under pressure. We only want to keep it at a manageable level so it doesn’t get in the way of your writing; you’ll probably always feel some anxiety when putting pen to paper.

Many people find that using a graphic organizer or shape planner helps them get their thoughts in order before they sit down to write.


The second step in writing is drafting. During the writing process, the author develops his thoughts into more substantial notions, such as phrases and paragraphs. The author’s use of structure aids the reader in grasping his position. He does this by giving careful consideration to what ideas or topics should be included in the text. While writing, the author will develop the essay’s opening and conclusion. When the author completes this stage, a “rough draught” will exist.

What Goes Into a Draft?

Step one in creating a piece of writing is analyzing the prewriting. The author should utilize the prewriting notes to determine the essay’s focus. A few ways to do this are to restrict the emphasis and/or establish the purpose of the writing.

A writer can choose to compose an article about canines. In his research, he may have thought to add information on show dogs, working dogs, and dog racing. Each of them might effectively function as the topic of a separate essay. For the duration of the writing process, the author should focus on just one of these options.

The purpose of the essay should be determined once he has chosen a topic. If he wanted to educate his readers, for instance, he may choose to write an article on working dogs. On the other side, he can choose to write on dog racing in a persuasive essay, either to argue for or against the topic. After deciding what you want to achieve with your writing, you can get down to business quickly. Any information that is not directly related to the topic and objective should be eliminated from the prewriting stage.

The author begins the essay with an introduction. The primary purpose of an introduction is to familiarize the reader with the work’s topic while also generating interest in it. In the case of very young readers, even a single word outlining the topic might do as an introduction. Veteran writers will begin essays with an overview of the topic, a clear statement of their purpose, and an outline of how they plan to expand on the subject throughout the piece. A good writer knows the importance of setting the stage with an exciting introduction. The tone of the introduction will shift as necessary. To set the tone for a personal narrative, the author could choose a quote that makes the reader pause and reflect. The tone of an informative essay’s introduction should mirror that of the paper’s body. It should be clear and focused on the topic at hand.

A solid, interesting introduction sets the tone for the rest of the draught text. Before beginning to write an essay, the author should organize his ideas in a logical, chronological manner. It’s important to stress the interconnectedness of different concerns. In the body of their writing, young authors will sprinkle related detail phrases to the topic sentence. Paragraphs are the best way to organize an older writer’s work. Paragraphs require that each sentence have its own topic sentence. No of the subject matter, a logical piece of writing needs the paragraphs to flow into one another without any jarring breaks. The writer should go back to the outline or rough draught they created before beginning to write.

A rough draught needs a conclusion to be considered complete. A concluding paragraph should do a final job of bringing together all of the work’s major points. Top-notch conclusions are creative and intriguing, while also answering most of the reader’s questions. The last paragraph of a piece of writing may simply consist of a statement for younger students. Expert writers always know to wrap things off with a paragraph.


After the first draught is complete, the author should begin the first round of revisions. Editing is not a discrete event but rather an ongoing process. When an author edits his work, he looks for typos and other errors. Typos in capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and/or formatting are common examples (indenting of paragraphs, etc.). Most editing should be done by the writer themselves. Writers of the past should be able to check a piece for capitalization and punctuation errors with just little assistance. A student’s ability to correct his own errors grows as he matures. Some students find that reading their draughts out loud helps them catch errors when rewriting. This makes it easier to see mistakes. Editing is not something that should be viewed negatively. Put forth some effort to compose an article that will satisfy the writer. The author must be reminded that he has at least two more rounds of revisions to complete. He’ll go through a round of edits before drafting his final copy, and then follow the same process to assess the final product.
